MOSSY's Mining Blog

If you think about it the Expedition coming to Calyx is sort of like an old western: We're out on the frontier facing the unknown the possibility of danger around every corner. We're upholding the law of Earth the law of justice? I think what we're doing out here is justice - the universe has been a cold and uncaring place to humanity really so why shouldn't we come out here to take a bit back?

All of this to say that while out on a mineral survey here in SIERRA I saw a new plant roll by - and it looked just like a tumbleweed! Without even thinking about it I did a little whistle. You know that doo-dee-dooooooooooo? The one right before the sheriff and the guy who isn't a sheriff draw on each other. I got really paranoid all of a sudden and felt like someone was going to creep up on me but nobody did - the only thing that happened when I turned around is that another one of these tumbleweed things flew right into my face. It was extremely light but it knocked me over anyways. That's the power of surprise. Like when you bump your knee and it doesn't hurt but you still say 'Ouch!'

Copper deposit SL-182 was of moderate purity. There seems to be some other kind of substance mixed in with everything around here but I can't tell what it is - I'm sure somebody more qualified will figure it out.

Tumbletorch was a small-to-medium sized plant native to desert Areas of Calyx. Believed at first to be a byproduct of existing flora, later observations of it firmly rooted showed evidence of an ultra-sharp, razorlike Surface that would develop until the plant was able to naturally detach itself from the ground.
